Annius Hoornstra

Annius Hoornstra studied urban planning at the UvA. His career began at a housing corporation in The Hague, and after working for the municipalities of Amsterdam and Zaanstad, he returned to The Hague as an independent urban developer. Together with two others, Annius founded The Positive Lab, where they focus on developing new organizational and funding models for human- and climate-positive developments. The current system, which relies on funding qualities through land value, is faltering. The Positive Lab uses financial returns from increased greenery, more water, affordable housing, working close to home, and similar initiatives to create value in collaboration with stakeholders as (co-)commissioners.
