The family tries to continue their lives unchanged when after 10 years the highway next to their house is taken into use, and they adjust the house to the new condition.
For many years, Marthe, Michel and their three children live next-door to an unfinished highway when suddenly, without any warning, the highway is opened. This causes the family to become isolated from the community. They adapt their home to the new circumstances in a desperate attempt to carry on living their life as if nothing has changed. This results in tensions between the family members that eventually takes its toll. Home is an intriguing film that shows how infrastructure and mobility can become a threat to the balance between people and their environment, and the impact of isolation of family life.
