‘De Spelers of Oosterwold’ (‘The players of Oosterwold’) is a film about the ultimate form of DIY-area development. With only a minimal set of rules, private initiators develop the rural area of Oosterwold (Almere). Does this freedom result into a mere extension of the urban, or does it lead to a romanticized countryside with a vegetable garden on every plot? Whatever it will be, it does not happen without a fight. To achieve their dream, those involved need much courage and persistence.
